On my Newport teams I’ve been playing up 1 age division. But this winter in indoor, at Starfire, I play up 2 age divisions. I play goalie for at least half of the game. Next season with Newport FC I’ll actually get to play in my own age division. That will be fun, but I’ll really miss my teammates!
A lot of players think goalie is a hard position and a lot of girls are scared of the ball being kicked at them.
I have had a lot of help from Jeff Koch, Newport FC’s keeper coach. He played professionally on the Tacoma Storm (he also coaches one of the boy’s teams). He’s been great about teaching me how to play keeper.
